Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel [1,338m]

After landing at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to a hotel in Thamel for an overnight stay. As you get fresh and completely rested for a while, you can stroll around the bustling streets of Kathmandu. In the evening, join a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Mountain Flight to Lukla [2,810 m], and trek to Phakding [2,640 (03-04 Hrs)

With an aerial view of lush valleys, woodlands, hills, and winding rivers, a flight takes you to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, a gateway to Everest Base Camp. After having lunch and resting a while, head to Phakding, a beautiful village located along the bank of the Dudhkoshi River, walking through several quaint villages, suspension bridges, and green jungles. Spend your night in a peaceful environment, communicating with locals and tasting hearty Nepalese cuisine.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Monjo [2,835 m].

Wake up early in the morning to reach the village of Monju, hiking on trails adorned with rhododendron forests, and crossing the Monjo River as you begin the journey from the north of Phakding. After reaching today’s destination, following the Dudhkoshi river with gradual ascents, you need to obtain entry permits for the Sagarmatha National Park, as the park starts from it.

Day 4: Trek from Monjo to Namche Bazaar [3,440 m]

Depending on the Everest Family Adventure with Chitwan National Park itinerary, on the 4th day of the journey, hike through Sagarmatha National Park with glimpses of wildlife and vegetation with a 600 m altitude gain. In the first section, descend to the Koshi River, and then take ascending trails with gradual uphill climbs to reach Namche Bazar, also known as Sherpa town, where you can see numerous trekkers, guides, and porters, especially during the peak seasons.

Day 5: Acclimatization day at Namche, day hike to Shyangboche [3,833 m].

It is your free day in Namchebazar with a golden opportunity to explore its vibrant markets and historical places. Based on your preferences, you can either rest and discover the Sherpa town or go on a side hike to Shyangboche at an elevation of 3833 m for breathtaking vistas of mountains, including Mt. Everest, Amadablam, and Lhotse, as well as visit Shyangboche Monastery, which reflects ancient Buddhist systems, influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Return to the teahouse of Namchebazar before evening for overnight stays.

Day 6: Trek from Namchebazar to Tyangboche [3,860 m].

Leaving Namchebazar behind, begin today’s day hike from its northeast towards Tyangboche, one of the settlements in the Everest region, renowned for its serene atmosphere with panoramic scenes, and Tyangboche Monastery, an ancient monastery. Crossing several villages, including Kyangjuma, reach the destination to enjoy its natural grandeur as well as stunning vistas of Mt. Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, and Lhotse.

Day 7: Trek from Tyangboche to Khumjung [3,780 m].

Although shorter, today’s hike to Khumjung will be rewarding, despite the steep ascent, thanks to the beautiful Sherpa villages along the way. Generally, Khumjung village is famous for its stone houses, the Hillary School, rich Sherpa traditions, and the Khumjung monastery (often considered to be the location of a yeti scalp). As Khumjung is a large settlement on trekking routes, you can have a deep insight into the authentic Himalayan cultural heritage of the Sherpa community.

Day 8: Trek from Khumjung to Phakding [2,640 m]

After a hearty breakfast at the teahouse in Khumjung, descending trails lead you back to Phakding village via the Sagarmatha National Park and settlements such as Monjo, Benkar, and others. Once you get a chance to explore Phakding before getting back to Lukla.

Day 9: Trek from Phakding to Lukla [2,810 m]

Descending, steeper, and more rugged trails lead you towards Lukla with a hike of 3 to 4 hours. Enjoy your last night in the Everest region with your family and local Sherpa community, sharing each other's experiences. Before bedtime, prepare yourself for tomorrow’s flight.

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu [1,338m].

A flight of 30 to 35 minutes takes you to Kathmandu with a glimpse of peaks, quaint villages, and terraced hillsides scattered across the Himalayas. Upon landing in Kathmandu, our team will transfer you to the hotel to unwind.

Day 11: Free day in Kathmandu [1,338m]

After spending a week in the high-altitude landscapes of the Everest region, you have a free day to let your body adjust before heading to the humid lowlands of the Terai. Accordingly, explore nearby restaurants to taste various local food items.

Day 12: Sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath.

Day 13: Drive to Chitwan National Park.

After a hearty breakfast, you head to Chitwan National Park (Sauraha) with a scenic drive of 5 to 6 hours. Take a session to learn about the day’s activities in the national park. At first, explore the villages of Tharu to know their cultures and traditions. Visit the museum as it displays information about endangered species found in the park, as well as traditional Tharu tools, homes, and daily life. Afterward, enjoy the sunset view over the Rapti River, which creates a wonderful atmosphere for Photography. Have delicious local cuisines, and interact with locals and your family members in the evening before enjoying Tharu cultural stick dances.

Day 14: Full day in Chitwan National Park.

Day 15: Drive back to Kathmandu

You can visit the markets of Kathmandu, such as Thamel, Bouddha, and Lagankhel, to buy souvenirs for your loved ones and some essentials for yourself.
