Located north of Kathmandu and close to the Tibetan border white pearls line up in front of trekkers marching in the Tamang Heritage route. With very few travelers on the trail, this itinerary is an ideal match for people wanting to connect with unspoiled nature.

Moreover, the gradual change in landscape from sub-tropical forest to high altitude grassland with varieties of flora and fauna is a treat to everyone. Majority of the forest is filled with Rhododendron trees (Nepal's national flower) with different species of birds, butterflies, monkeys, insects.

Furthermore, mesmerizing views of Langtang Lirung (7,234), Ganesh Himal(7,422), Langtang Ri (7,204) will be worth every step. From October to December is considered the best time of the year to hike this Langtang off the beaten trail. The temperature during these months are very suitable for hiking and the skies are generally clear with some of the splendid views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and more. The nights will not be freezing cold and the wind is also less during autumn season. In this period Nepali people celebrate some of the biggest festivals such as Dashain and Tihar, because of which the villages become livelier.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Kathmandu

A representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will be waiting for you outside Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu according to your flight time with a board mentioning your Name. One you meet our expert team member you will be accompanied by them to the hotel and help you with check in procedures.Once you have settled down, a trip briefing will be done where all your queries will be answered by a member from our Managing Team. Rest of the day is at leisure and you may explore around Thamel or visit some of the World Heritage Sites. We can arrange these tours for you upon your request

Day 2: Cultural Tour in Kathmandu

With the intention of introducing Nepal's rich history and cultural display Adventure Treks Nepal has planned this day with Cultural Tour of three of the World Heritage Sites and important religious sites.Breakfast will be served at the Hotel after which we proceed towards the ancient palace of Bhaktapur now commonly known as Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This 15 km drive from Kathmandu will take you away from the main city and onto the old settlement inhabited by the Newar community where you can still see the palace from 17th century. Our professional tour guide will accompany you as you wander into the surrounding area while he explains each and every tiny detail about this artistic town.The second half of the day consists of a visit to two religious pilgrimage sites for Hindu and Buddhist religion. Pashupatinath temple, a Hindu shrine is the most important Shiva temple in the world where during your visit you will see many burning bodies as a part of Hindu cremation process and you get the opportunity to learn about many rituals that people follow in Nepal.Bouddhanath Stupa, the biggest stupa of South Asia is the last destination for Today. This Stupa is believed to hold remains of Buddha and is a holy place for people following Buddhism. After completing all three destinations you will be dropped at your hotel for refreshment and free time.

Day 3: Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

Finally we will enter Langtang National Park just before Dhunche where our permits will be checked. The drive today has very nice views of valleys with rivers and takes you through the countryside of Nepal. You will see many interesting things along the way. Syabrubesi is a small town which is the base for a few treks in Langtang region and we plan to spend a night there.

Day 4: Trek to Gatlang

Begini our hike from syabrubesi from where the trail climbs up towards Deurali after which the path becomes relatively easy. From the top after this uphill section Ganesh Himal range and Langtang Lirung appear in front of us with glorious views of the valley. Throughout the day we will pass many local villages as we continue further ahead. These locals will greet you with the most beautiful smiles and treat you with great hospitality.

Day 5: Trek to Tatopani

Our destination for today is Tatopani where they have a hot water spring. On the initial part of the trail today we descend to Thangbuchet, where we can see Chilime Hydropower dam. Crossing a small bridge over Bhotekoshi River we begin to climb up towards Tatopani. On the trail Langtang and Ganesh Himal Range will always be towering in distance.

Day 6: Trek to Thuman [2,338m] via Nagthali

This is the longest yet one of the best days in terms of scenery. Our plan is to reach Thuman passing Nagthali. Nagthali is a place for local monks to meditate with excellent views of Langtang Lirung, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen Ranges. Thuman is yet another Tamang settlement of Langtang Region and you will be treated with great hospitality by locals.

Day 7: Trek to Briddim

Another easy day as we begin to return towards Syabrubrsi. Today's walk will take us through thick Rhododendron forests and pass many Tamang villages on the way. The plan today is to have lunch break at timure before we head in the direction of Briddim.People living in Briddim have descended from Tibet centuries ago because of which you will also see the influence of Tibetan Buddhism in the village.

Day 8: Return trek to Syabrubesi

This will be our last day of trekking. Following the Bhote Koshi River and passing several terraced fields and local villages our plan is to arrive at Syabrubesi for overnight stay. Once you arrive at Syabrubesi you can relax or take a walk around this small town.

Day 9: Return to Kathmandu

Drive back to Kathmandu the same route. The road offers some of the great views of the Langtang National Park and its surrounding region before you enter Kathmandu valley. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, no further plans so you can relax on your own.

Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu

There are plenty of interesting sites to visit in the Kathmandu valley like the Old Palaces at Patan, Kathmandu, Swayambhunath (the monkey temple or you may wander downtown Thamel to shop for souvenirs and sample the various restaurants of Kathmandu. We are happy to offer you some recommendations.

Day 11: Fly back home

A representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will drop you to the airport. Return back home with the memories for lifetime.
